In what ways was Andrew Jackson seen as a common man
emmainna [20.7K]
Andrew Jackson's term as president (1829-1837) began a new era in American politics. For the first time in the United States history a man born in humble circumstances was now President. Politicians in the previous generations gained precedence due to their family background, wealth, prestige, and education. Families such the Adams, and the Jeffersons constituted the guidelines for political appointees. Andrew Jackson’s election showed that a mans’ lineage did not ensure a place in office. Rather it was the candidate’s ability to appeal to the voter. It was Jackson’s election that started the supposed 'age of the common man'. Jackson became the defining figure of his age due to his ability to overcome early life struggles, his military record, and his successes as an adult. Despite all his accomplishments, Jackson downplayed his past successes to suit the public's belief that Jackson was one of them. In reality Jackson was anything but common. i hope it works

How does Islam impact the culture of the Middle East?
Mariana [72]
Islam has had an enormous impact on the culture of the Middle East since the time of the Prophet Muhammad. Islam has helped to shape the culture from the language, to customs, to business, to institution building, to the construction of political arrangements. Because Islam became the predominant religion of the region much of life has been built around Islam and the doctrine the religion professes. There are few aspects of life today in the Middle East that Islam has not had some direct or indirect influence on.

PART A: Which word best summarizes the relationship the thirteen colonies have with their government? A Trusting B Pleasant C Dy
laiz [17]

Answer:

Letter D. Distrustful

Explanation:

From the second half of the 18th century onwards, after the English victory in the Seven Years' War, the English economy was extremely shaken by the expenses with the war. With that, the eyes of the English Crown turned to its 13 colonies in America. The English Crown aimed at the urgent application of mercantilist legislation in the English colonies.

In addition, with the advent of the Industrial Revolution, England needed markets, but because of the relative colonial autonomy (healthy neglect) they always had, the colonies were never consumers of metropolitan production.

Thus, the Crown issued numerous decrees, considerably restricting the relative autonomy of both the northern and southern colonies. It was essential for England to transform its colonies into consumer markets for English production. This situation led the metropolis to close the siege by inspecting the colonies, instituting a series of taxes. How: The Sugar Law, the Stamp Law, the Tea Law, and the Intolerable Laws.

Revolted, the colonists did not accept the impositions adopted by the English Crown. In this climate of dissatisfaction and revolt among the colonists, libertarian ideals influenced by Enlightenment thinkers emerged. Aware of their strength, they refused to pay the fees and turned a blind eye to the taxed products. England was not prepared to negotiate and the clash between the colonists and the metropolis was inevitable. These factors triggered the war of independence for the 13 English colonies.
