So, I think that the most loaded word is "sharply" : it provides a judgement: that the split over the issue was very big ("sharp"). The other words could be used to just describe the situation (although the situation is loaded itself).

The answer is:

3. Netta and Jim were sharply split over the issue of free trade.

Loaded words possess strong sentimental associations and hold extreme positive or negative reactions in addition to their literal or primary meaning.

Sharply means piercingly, strongly, discernibly and distinctly. In the chosen sentence, the use of the word sharply indicates that Netta and Jim's views on free trade opposed fiercely.

The rest of the alternatives are incorrect because the words do not express intense disagreement.

Right deserves Brainliest with an explanationn of WHY
skelet666 [1.2K]

Answer: A. Hawthorne is giving a lesson Franklin learned that readers might also profit from

Explanation:

Hawthorne is obviously not giving his own thoughts, since Franklin said this and it is a quote. He also cannot be trying to get young readers to relate because there is nothing in the excerpt about being a boy. Franklin probably had some experience and learned this lesson from it.
