If you distribute the 2 on the left you end up with

6y-8=10

then add 8 to both sides

6y=18

then divide by 6 on both sides

y=3

and if you plug it back in it should equal 10

2((3)(3)-4)=10

10=10<span />

2(3y-4)=10\ \ \ |divide\ both\ sides\ by\ 2\\\\\frac{2(3y-4)}{2}=\frac{10}{2}\\\\3y-4=5\ \ \ \ \ |add\ 4\ to\ both\ sides\\\\3y=9\ \ \ \ \ |divide\ both\ sides\ by\ 3\\\\\boxed{y=3}

Apply the product rules to determine the sign of each expression
sammy [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

1). (\frac{-4}{9})\times (\frac{7}{4})=(-1)(\frac{4}{9})(\frac{7}{4} )

                =-\frac{7}{9} [Negative]

2). (-2\frac{3}{4})(-1\frac{1}{5})=(-1)(2\frac{3}{4})(-1)(1\frac{1}{5})

                        =(-1)^2(2\frac{3}{4})(1\frac{1}{5})

                        =(2\frac{3}{4})(1\frac{1}{5}) [Positive]

3). (3)(-3)(-3)(-3)(-3) = 3.(-1).3.(-1).3.(-1).3(-1).(3)

                              = (-1)⁴(3)⁵

                              = (3)⁵ [Positive]

4). (-\frac{1}{6})(-2)(-\frac{3}{5})(-9) = (-1)(\frac{1}{6})(-1)(2)(-1)(\frac{3}{5})(-1)(9)

                                   = (-1)^4(\frac{1}{6})(2)(\frac{3}{5})(9)

                                   = (\frac{1}{6})(2)(\frac{3}{5})(9) [Positive]

5). (-\frac{4}{7})(-\frac{3}{5})(-9)=(-1)(\frac{4}{7})(-1)(\frac{3}{5})(-1)(9)

                            =(-1)^3(\frac{4}{7})(\frac{3}{5})(9)

                            =-(\frac{4}{7})(\frac{3}{5})(9) [Negative]

6). (-\frac{10}{7})(\frac{8}{3})=(-1)(\frac{10}{7})(\frac{8}{3})

                    =-(\frac{10}{7})(\frac{8}{3}) [Negative]

Solve this inequality: the sum of twice a number and four is at least 16
lesantik [10]

Answer:

x ≥ 6

Step-by-step explanation:

the equation for this is 2x (the sum of twice a number) + 4 (and 4) ≥ 16 (is at least 16

2x + 4 ≥ 16

subtract 4 from both sides (4 and 16)

you get 2x ≥ 12

divide both sides by 2 (2x and 12)

you get x ≥ 6
