Order of operations id important because it helps people be able to solve equations in a step by step order, and it makes sure people solve a problem in the same way and get the same answers.
The Order of operations is important because it tells you what operation to do in order. For example, 6*3 + 12 * 12 would be 162 but, if you didn't use order of operations then it would be 360 which is not correct.
