Answer:

Biological and physical oceanography

Explanation:

Physical oceanography is the branch of oceanography that studies the physical processes in the oceans and their relationships, not only with the atmosphere, but also with the lithosphere. Physical oceanography deals with the characteristics of water bodies and researches phenomena such as: marine currents, tides, waves, vortices and others. On the other hand, biological oceanography studies the biota and ecology of the oceans, seeking to understand the biological mechanisms that work in the oceans. Biological oceanography differs from marine biology in that it studies marine organisms with a greener approach to ocean physics, chemistry and geology.

With the union of physical and chemical oceanography, it is possible to establish studies that aim to understand how ocean currents affect the distribution of coral larvae, for exemple.

an organism had 8 chromosomes in its body cells. how many chromosomes will be in the body cells of the offspring?
larisa [96]

Answer:

8

Explanation:

I am assuming that this organism reproduces sexually. The body cell of the offspring will be the same as the parent. The reproductive cell of the organism will have half the amount of chromosomes as the body cell.

So if the parent has 8 chromosomes in its body cells then the offspring will have 8 chromosomes in its body cells.

Cycle energy and matter to support the biosphere as a closed energy system

Explanation:

The earth as we know it is a closed energy system that is, matter cannot be introduced or removed from it. Sometimes, rare meterites enter into the system with minimal or no disruption.

Also, energy can enter and leave. The energy mostly referenced here is the sun.

Within the earths system, the lithosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere materials and energy go through a cycle which helps to support life.

For example, water when heated up by the sun rises as vapour from the earth and oceans into the atmosphere where it cools and condenses. When it cools and condenses, it , in the form of rain, comes down on the earth and oceans. As rain falls down to the earth and runs off the rocks, rocks are broken down into smaller fragments and soils.  The hydrosphere comprises of all water bodies on earth. Besides the vapours which are evaporated from the same into the atmosphere, when volcanoes erupt they also send vapourised water into the atmosphere.

So because the earth is a closed system, a change in one sphere effects a change in others. An example is a change in the water cycle.
