Answer:

The punnett square

Colorblind Man's genotype = XbY

Non colorblind Woman's genotype = XX

Xb Y

X XbX XY

X XbX XY

All the female children will be carriers of color-blind allele (XbX).

None of the male children will be color blind (XY).

Explanation: Color blindness is an X-linked disorder in which one is unable to distinguish between some colours. It is usually borne on the X-chromosome thus X-linked disease. Usually males are sufferers because they have only one X chromosome (XY) and women are mostly carriers because they have two X chromosome and rarely does it affect the two X chromosomes in female.

If Xb is the allele for color blindness, and X and Y represent chromosomes that are not affected, a cross between a color blind man (XbY) and a woman who is not color blind (XX) as shown in the punnett square above will produce two females who are carriers (XbX) of color blind allele and two males who are not color blind.

One way to determine the density of animals in an area is to use the mark-recapture technique. A number of individuals from a po
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer:

N = 187.55

Explanation:

Here you just need to replace the terms and clear the equation.

You already know that,

  • First capture: 25 prairie dogs.
  • First marked animals: 25 (the whole first capture)

You let these animals leave and then you made another capture.

  • Second capture: 135 prairie dogs
  • Already Marked animals: 18 (these 18 dogs were caught in the first capture and marked before releasing them)

To know the size of the prairie dogs population you just need to use the following equation and clear N, which is the value that you are looking for.

Number of individual marked in first catch/Total population size, N = Number of individual marked in 2nd catch / Total number of 2nd catch

  • Number of individual marked in first catch = 25 dogs
  • Total population size, N = this is what we want to know
  • Number of individual marked in 2nd catch = 18 dogs
  • Total number of 2nd catch = 135 dogs

So now, we need to replace terms

25 / N = 18 / 135

25 / N = 0.1333

N = 25 / 0.1333

N = 187.55

A learning process that can occur only during a limited period of the individual's development is called _____.
likoan [24]
This process is called as imprinting. It occurs at a particular stage of life and is, therefore, a phase-sensitive learning process. It can be of many types, including filial imprinting, where an offspring gains some of its behavioral characteristics from the parent, or sexual imprinting, through which desirable characteristics of a mate are recognized by a young animal.
