If a line pass through three points, they are collinear points, and the determinant of a matrix produced by their coordinates equals 0.

Knowing this, we can fin the value of n.

We need a triangular matrix, so we can complete it with 1's.

\left[\begin{array}{ccc}6&3&1\\8&4&1\\n&-2&1\end{array}\right]

24 + 3n - 16 - 4n + 12 - 24 = 0

- n - 4 = 0

- n = 4

n = -4

The value of n it's -4.

Hope it helps.

Salut!
Alecu ar citi in 12 zile 14 x 12 = 168 de pagini (atatea pagini are cartea);
O saptamana are 7 zile, asa ca 168 ÷ 7 = 24 de pagini trebuie sa citeasca zilnic Alecu ca sa inapoieze cartea la sfarsitul celor 7 zile;

2) Richard, Henry and Gavin share some sweets in the ratio 4:1:3. Richard gets 7 more sweets
sineoko [7]

Answer:

6

Step-by-step explanation:

Richard gets 7 more sweets than Gavin which would probably make Richard have the most so in total he should have around 8 whilst Gavin has 1 so right now we have 4:1:?. Basing off the fact that Richard would have the most sweets Henry would have to have 6 sweets to be able to divide half of it for 3. 4:1:3

A raffle offers one $8000.00 prize, one $4000.00 prize, and five $1600.00 prizes. There are 5000 tickets sold at $5 each. Find t
Harman [31]

Answer:

The expectation is  E(1 )= -\$ 1

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that

     The first offer is  x_1 =  \$ 8000

     The second offer is  x_2 =  \$ 4000

      The third offer is  \$ 1600

      The number of tickets is  n = 5000

      The  price of each ticket is  p= \$ 5

Generally expectation is mathematically represented as

             E(x)=\sum  x *  P(X = x )

     P(X =  x_1  ) =  \frac{1}{5000}    given that they just offer one

    P(X =  x_1  ) = 0.0002

 Now

     P(X =  x_2  ) =  \frac{1}{5000}    given that they just offer one

     P(X =  x_2  ) = 0.0002

 Now

      P(X =  x_3  ) =  \frac{5}{5000}    given that they offer five

       P(X =  x_3  ) = 0.001

Hence the  expectation is evaluated as

       E(x)=8000 *  0.0002 + 4000 *  0.0002 + 1600 * 0.001

      E(x)=\$ 4

Now given that the price for a ticket is  \$ 5

The actual expectation when price of ticket has been removed is

      E(1 )= 4- 5

      E(1 )= -\$ 1

The price of each caramel macchiato is $5.60

What is the correct function in this case?

The appropriate function is the one that considers the initial amount of $35 , the amount spent for 5 caramel macchiatos, and the balance left which is $7 after the purchase

This means the $35 minus the amount spent equals $7

let us assume that the price per item is x for 5 items, then he spent 5x

35-5x=7

35-7=5x

28=5x

x=28/5

x=$5.60
