When new america first came about, there were 13 colonies which were all on the eastern coast, as time passed, they were like well how about we expand our nation soooooooo......... they sent Lewis and Clark on an expedition to find the other end of the land so when they completed they were like that was hella far and good luck sooo as cocky as they come we decided to take it we thought we were here first so your sol. so when the natives didn't want to leave we decided to take it by force and we grew a hatred towards them for them not giving us what was theirs, so finally we got a president with brains and he was like we will buy it from you so we jiped em out. we would buy hundreds of acres for a few dollars since they didn't really know, they didn't see the trap so we tricked them into giving us there land for virtually nothing.
