Explanation: Realism, as the title itself suggests a literary period where the writers are more inclined towards portraying the subjects as they are in real life and depicts an escape from the fictional and imaginative world of previous writers which had misled people to think of a utopian world. Mark Twain is the master of this art. Along with him, all the realists provided more attention to the characters than the plot. The characters are complex and multi-layered and present an affiliation to authenticity and truthfulness of the inner conflicts of the individuals which leads to several undesired actions as it happens in day to day life and outer reality at that time. The speech pattern of the realist writers are natural and true to life through which the audience could relate themselves which was the key feature of Twain's writings like In "The adventures of Huckleberry Finn" the use of dialects is relating it to the "common man". he has established himself as a pioneer of "American Realism". The way he presents the stories has enriched the literature with a new dimension of realism which is focusing more on reality and psychological developments in the character's mind contrary to previous fabrications of the fictional texts.
Realism is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. It is an attempt to state everything truthfully and how it is. It is also in books often seen without any sense of an imagination because the author wants to focus on what is real and what would really happen or how that really went. They are straight to the facts and straight to the point.
