Your going to make the x into a 6 so your equation is f(6)=3 times 6 - 4. And the answer to this is 14.

6 (x)=3x-4
Subtract 3x from both sides
6x-3x=3x-4-3x
3x=-4
Divide both sides by 3x
3x/3x=-4/3x
x=-4/3
