Answer:

The answer is b. Biological perspective.

Explanation:

The biological perspective to psychology states that human behaviour is mostly ruled by the nervous system and genetics. In other words, it holds nature as responsible for our actions.

The greatest advantage to this perspective is that research is based on strict scientific approaches, so the findings are highly reliable.

Engineering stress and strain are calculated using the actual cross-sectional area and length of the specimen. True or false?
Alekssandra [29.7K]

Answer:

False

Explanation:

True stress and strain are what are calculated by diving applied load by actual cross sectional area and change in length by length of specimen respectively. However, for engineering stress and strain, we use original area and original length. Generally, engineering Stress is always greater than the corresponding True Stress because the actual area increases due to Poisson's effect. Poisson's ratio is a measure of the Poisson effect, that describes the expansion of a material in directions perpendicular to the direction of compression. The value of Poisson's ratio is the negative of the ratio of transverse strain to axial strain.

How do you find the boundary layer thickness of a pipe?
QveST [7]

The boundary layer thickness is usually defined as the distance from the wall to the point where the flow velocity reaches 99 % of the free stream value.

In the very thin boundary layer associated with free stream flows with high Reynolds numbers, a steep rise in velocity occurs perpendicular to the wall.

Boundary layer thickness = 0.37*Distance on x-axis/(Reynolds Number^(1/5))

δ = 0.37*x/(Re^(1/5))

This formula uses 3 Variables:

Variables Used

Boundary layer thickness - (Measured in Meter) - Boundary layer thickness is the distance normal to the wall to a point where the flow velocity has essentially reached the 'asymptotic' velocity.

Distance on x-axis - (Measured in Meter) - Distance on x-axis is the distance of point measured along x-axis form origin.

Reynolds Number - The Reynolds number is the ratio of inertial forces to viscous forces within a fluid which is subjected to relative internal movement due to different fluid velocities. A region where these forces change behavior is known as a boundary layer, such as the bounding surface in the interior of a pipe.

Danni and Michelle were the co-captains of their high school's small environmental action club, and now that they are at college
SSSSS [86.1K]

Answer:

The correct answer is letter b. social loafing.

Explanation:

In social psychology, the term social loafing describes a phenomenon that takes place when individuals work in a group instead of on their own. Social loafing is the tendency people show to exert less effort when working with others. This phenomenon explains why sometimes groups are less efficient and less productive than if the individuals were to work on their own and be responsible for their own productivity. That is the case with Michelle. Now that the group is larger, she is making less effort, being "content to sit back and let others do the work".
