You would want to know if she too is suicidal. Is she in any other life altering circumstances. Does she have any family to help her grieve. Is she prone to be violent. If yes there is a possible chance she is suicidal to and you would not want to aggravate things further so you would take a different approach. Each answer she has to those questions will have a different outcome to her situation. Therefore knowing those answers you would know the right way to approach her and be able to help her.
