Which lines in this excerpt from Shakespeare’s Richard III provide evidence for the theme of good versus evil in the play? RICHA

RD III (Duke of Gloucester): Now is the winter of our discontent Made glorious summer by this sun of York; And all the clouds that lour'd upon our house In the deep bosom of the ocean buried. Now are our brows bound with victorious wreaths; Our bruised arms hung up for monuments; Our stern alarums changed to merry meetings, Our dreadful marches to delightful measures. Grim-visaged war hath smooth'd his wrinkled front; And now, instead of mounting barded steeds To fright the souls of fearful adversaries, He capers nimbly in a lady's chamber To the lascivious pleasing of a lute. But I, that am not shaped for sportive tricks, Nor made to court an amorous looking-glass; I, that am rudely stamp'd, and want love's majesty To strut before a wanton ambling nymph; I, that am curtail'd of this fair proportion, Cheated of feature by dissembling nature, Deformed, unfinish'd, sent before my time Into this breathing world, scarce half made up, And that so lamely and unfashionable That dogs bark at me as I halt by them; Why, I, in this weak piping time of peace, Have no delight to pass away the time, Unless to spy my shadow in the sun And descant on mine own deformity: And therefore, since I cannot prove a lover, To entertain these fair well-spoken days, I am determined to prove a villain And hate the idle pleasures of these days.

Answer: And now, instead of mounting barded steeds To fright the souls of fearful adversaries, He capers nimbly in a lady's chamber To the lascivious pleasing of a lute.

Explanation: the author states that instead of marching against enemies they now dance and entertain ladies. This is, from my point of vew, a good vs evil or peace vs war argument.

Summarize how Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and Rosa Parks may have agreed and disagreed in their activism. Find a specific
Natali [406]

Answer and Explanation:

Hello. You did not provide the text to which the question refers, which prevents the examples and textual evidence from being accurate.

Although the three people mentioned in the question above fought for civil rights and an end to racism and discrimination against blacks, they had different opinions on how this fight should be carried out.

Rosa Parks was in favor of civil disobedience and the refusal of blacks to submit to what whites imposed on them. However, Rosa did not engage in violent movements, nor did she blame them, for her the purpose justified the means, provided that the rights of blacks were taken care of.

Martin Luther King advocated a peaceful struggle, without violent methods and cherishing the safety and peace of all involved. He believed that freedom and rights are not fought for by provoking violence, as it destroys everything good that can happen.

Malcolm X, on the other hand, defended an armed struggle, where civil rights would be enforced in the country, through not only civil disobedience, but violence for those who tried to prevent blacks from gaining their rights.

The topic is defined as the
A. opinion
B. issue
C. main subject
D thesis statement
Alenkasestr [34]

Answer:

The correct answer is C - main subject.

Explanation:

In English, the topic of something is what the paper is centered around. For example, if you write an email and add a subject line, you are summarizing it very shortly. If I wrote a huge email explaining the benefits of healthcare, my subject would be "The Benefits of Healthcare." Therefore, C is your answer.

The answer cannot be A because your opinion is what is used to gain the topic of an essay. Your opinion is your stance on the topic and therefore is not a topic but rather your belief in the matter.

The answer cannot be B because the issue is why you would write the paper and does not mean that is what the paper will be about. For example, if my paper was misgraded, I would write an email about how upset I am. However, the topic would be to get the grade changed.

The answer is not D because a thesis statement is a broad opening into the evidence that supports the claim or topic of your essay.

I hope this helps.
