So, to graph this thing, you must put it in terms of y (at least, that's convention). So, let's isolate y:
2x-2x+y=6-2x
y = 6-2x

Rearrange the equation so it's easier to graph (i.e. put it in slope-intercept form):
y = -2x + 6

From this, we can understand that the graph intercepts the y-axis at 6, and the slope is -2.

Hi there!

To convert this equation into slope intercept form before graphing it, we need to put it into this form:

y = mx + b

So, first, we should move the 2x to the right side of the equation by subtracting 2x from both sides.

y = -2x + 6

and then, you graph.

Hope this helps!

Write an equation of the line that passes through (1,2) and is parallel to the line y = -5x +4
STatiana [176]

Answer:

y=-5x+7

Step-by-step explanation:

Prallel lines have the same slope

so the slope of  the unknown line is -5

and passes through(1,2)

y-2=-5(x-1)

slope-intercept form:y=-5x+7

MAVERICK [17]

Answer:

\sf x =\dfrac{2}{3}

Explanation:

\sf \rightarrow \dfrac{x+1}{2} = \dfrac{7x-3}{2}

cross multiply

\sf \rightarrow 2(x+1) = 2(7x-3)

divide both sides by 2

\sf \rightarrow x + 1 = 7x-3

isolate variables

\sf \rightarrow x -7x = -3-1

simplify

\sf \rightarrow -6x = -4

divide both sides by -6

\sf \rightarrow \dfrac{-6x}{-6}  = \dfrac{-4}{-6}

simplify

\sf \rightarrow x =\dfrac{2}{3}

The sum of the angle measures of a polygon with n sides is 1260. find n.
Murrr4er [49]
Knowing the interior angle sum formula is;

180x(n-2)

180x(n-2)=1260 (solve for n here)
180n-360=1260
180n=1260+360
180n=1620
n=1620/180
n=9

Therefore, this polygon has 9 sides.

Hope I helped :)

M = 1/2 (0, -3)<br> Write the equation of a line using slope intercept form
marshall27 [118]

Answer:

y=\frac{1}{2}x-3

Step-by-step explanation:

slope intercept form is y=mx+b

b is y intercept

so we plug the coordinate into the equation

-3=\frac{1}{2}(0)+b

-3=b

so y intercept is -3

so we then write our equation which is,

y=\frac{1}{2}x-3
