Area \ of \ top \ triangle =  \frac{1}{2} \times base \times height
       \boxed{\frac{1}{2} \times 7 \times 2 = 7 cm^{2} }

Area \ of \ the \ rectangle  = length \times width
      \boxed {7 \times 4 = 28 cm^2}

Area \ of \ bottom \ triangle = \frac{1}{2} \times base \times height
      \boxed {\frac{1}{2} \times 7 \times 2 = 7 cm^{2}}

\boxed{\boxed{Total \ area = 7 + 28 + 7 = 42 cm^2}}

A stuntman jumping off a 20-m-High building is modeled by the equation h=20-5t^2, where t is the same in seconds. A high-speed c
Alchen [17]

Answer: 1\leq t\leq \sqrt{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

1. You know that the high-speed camera is ready to film him between 15 meters and 10 meters above the ground.

2. The problem gives you the following equation:

h=20-5t^{2}

3. Therefore, you must calculate the time when h=15 and when h=10, as following:

h=15\\15=20-5t^{2}\\5t^{2}=5\\t=\sqrt{1}\\t=1

h=10\\10=20-5t^{2}\\5t^{2}=10\\t=\sqrt{2}

4. Therefore, the answer is:

1\leq t\leq \sqrt{2}

The parabola y=x^2 is reflected across the x-axis and then scaled vertically by the factor of 1/8. What is the equation of the n
poizon [28]

Answer:

y = (-1/8)x^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Start with y = x^2.  When the original parabola has been reflected across the x-axis, the pertinent equation becomes y = -x^2.

Now if this is scaled vertically by a factor of 1/8, we get:

y = (-1/8)x^2

Evaluate 7C2. Explain how you got your answer.
Leviafan [203]
So, to evaluate a combination, there's a formula we use.

I don't remember the formula from the top of my head, lol, but this is how you solve them.

7 c 2

When doing combinations and permutations each number is always in a factorial. We always start with the number on the left.

7! That's the total amount. The number on the left divides into that.

7! / 2!

We're not done yet. Here's the tricky part. We also always divide the number on the left, in this case 7!, with the positive difference of both numbers given to us.

7 - 2 = 5

So, we have 7! / 5! / 2! = 21.

Hope that helped!

Let's work another one.
5 c 3

We have 5! / 3! ,but we need to also divide 5! by the positive difference of 5 and 3. We get 2.

So, 5! / 3! / 2! = 10.

If you have any questions then leave a comment. Good luck!
