1The Golden Gate Bridge is a popular bridge in California. It celebrated its seventy-fifth birthday in 2012. The bridge passes o

ver the Golden Gate Strait, which flows between San Francisco and Marin County, California. It connects the Pacific Ocean to the San Francisco Bay. The strait is about three miles long and one mile wide.
2In 1872 a man named Charles Crocker first had the idea to build a bridge over the strait. It was not until 1919 that Michael O'Shaughnessy asked some engineers about the possibility of building the bridge. Joseph Baermann Strauss was an engineer. He said he could build a bridge for $25 to $30 million. Other engineers said that it would cost more than $100 million.

3Strauss gave his first plans to O'Shaughnessy in 1921. The plans showed a new kind of bridge. Strauss said it would cost $17 million to build. Another engineer was worried about the design. Plans for a simpler bridge were created instead. Strauss presented his final plans in August 1930. Construction on the new bridge began on January 5, 1933. There were problems right away. Because of thick fog that August, a steamship crashed into one of the bridge's trestles. In December, the trestle was damaged again in a storm. Another terrible accident happened in February 1937. Ten men lost their lives. "Ten tons of wood fell from the bridge into the safety net below" (35). The Pacific Bridge Company had not listened to the state official's warnings. The officials said the framework was dangerous.

4It took more than four years to build the Golden Gate Bridge. People walked across the finished bridge on Pedestrian Day, May 27, 1937. A reporter from the San Francisco Chronicle wrote, "a necklace of surpassing beauty was placed about the lovely throat of San Francisco yesterday," in his story about Pedestrian Day. Cars crossed the bridge for the first time the next day. Since then, more than one billion cars have used the bridge. The Golden Gate Bridge has received many awards and is recognized as a marvel of construction.

What does this interaction reveal about Antony’s agenda? He intends to make Lepidus one of the leaders of the divided empire. He
Alexus [3.1K]

Answer:

He plans to remove Lepidus from power once he has served his purpose.

Explanation:

In William Shakespeare's play "The Tragedy of Julius Caesar", the character of Lepidus has just three dialogues in the whole play. He was to be one of the three members of the Second Triumvirate, after the death of Julius Caesar.

Antony plans to use Lepidus as much as he can but he thinks that he is not worthy to be a part of the new Second Triumvirate. In Act Act IV scene i, we see the three members of the Second Triumvirate - Antony, Octavius and Lepidus deciding who should be killed for the murder of Caesar. Lepidus's brother and Antony's nephew must also die for their involvement in the murder. After that was decided,  Antony sent Lepidus to go and get Caesar's will from his house. After he left, Antony remarked to Octavius that Lepidus is just meant to obey orders and not be a leader, not fit for being a part of the Triumvirate. He said that "<em>He must be taught and trained and bid go forth,  A barren-spirited fellow, one that feeds  On objects, arts, and imitations</em>". This shows that he plans to remove Lepidus from power once he has served his purpose.

Read the excerpt from President Reagan’s Address at Moscow State University. Some people, even in my own country, look at the ri
sweet [91]

Answer:

Option C:- raise an objection to his own opinion and counter that argument

Explanation:

On May 31, 1988 President Ronald Reagan addressed the students and faculty at Moscow State University (MSU). Although previous presidents desired such an opportunity, no other U.S. president except Richard M. Nixon had stood east of the Berlin Wall and spoken directly to the citizens of the Soviet Union. That Reagan would have such an opportunity was highly unlikely. Reagan appeared to be an implacable foe of the Soviet Union, previously calling it an "evil empire," describing it as "the focus of evil in the modern world," and accusing the Soviet "regime" of being "barbaric."

Thus, Reagan equated freedom with progress. Specifically, his thesis argued that human rights equal individual freedom; freedom equals individual creativity; individual creativity equals technological progress. The essence of the argument in Reagan's MSU address can be summarized as follows:

There is a revolution taking place. It is spreading around the globe.
