      Work:
$3 x 7 = $21
$5.50  x  7 = $38.50
$38.50 + $21= $59.50

Derek spend $59.50 in a week.

This question has several steps. Derek goes to school 5 days a week. Add 5.50 and 3 together and multiply it by 5.

5.50 + 3= 8.50
8.50 × 5= 42.5
42.5 is the answer

There are exactly four positive integers n such that (n +7) is a factor of ( n +1) . Find the largest such n .
kipiarov [429]
\dfrac{n+1}{n+7}=\dfrac{n+7-6}{n+7}=1-\dfrac6{n+7}

n+7 will be a factor whenever the remainder term -\dfrac6{n+7} vanishes. But this will never happen for any integer n, so I suspect the question is inaccurately posed. Are there some characters missing?
