Explain the differences in the language of romantics vs. neoclassicists. What factors influenced the language of each movement?
weeeeeb [17]

Since the Romantic literature had set as its goal the "victory" or predominance of Man over Nature, its language tended to be somewhat triumphalistic (some would say hyperbolic) when it was about how human beings were deployed. Romanticism introduced an long-term project at a time when important scientific milestones were achieved, and also when most of modern nations and States were being founded, thus taking a voice which was very proud of national virtues, some of them legendary, part of folklore or popular culture (but belonging to a national heritage rather than coming from a more traditional stem). Neoclassicist literature was a new take on the Greek-Roman Classics, intending to bring them back into the mainstream and most of the times not fulfilling the feat. Based on this, Neoclassicist language could be felt as overblown. In a way, Romanticism was a look into the future (let us think of Frankenstein a very experimental novel for its time) whereas Neoclasicism very much represented a reaction to such future.

I'm falling hard without you here tonight....
Alexus [3.1K]

Answer:

walked through hell by anson seabra

I guess all the mountains that I moved just weren't enough

And all those nights I walked you home

From crowded bars when you were drunk

Well they meant nothing 'cause you up and walked away

And I just wonder what it'd take to make you stay

'Cause when you said jump I said how high

But when I jumped you said goodbye

I would've walked through hell

To find another way

I would've laid me down

If I knew that you would stay

I would've crossed the stars

To keep you in my life

But now I'm falling hard

Without you here tonight

Without you here tonight

What did you do with all that love you couldn't give

And do you need someone to help you tell you what to do with it

It must be nice to love someone who puts you first

Then walk away when they expect it in return

'Cause when you said jump I said how high

But when I jumped you said goodbye

I would've walked through hell

To find another way

I would've laid me down

If I knew that you would stay

I would've crossed the stars

To keep you in my life

But now I'm falling hard

Without you here tonight

Without you here tonight

You don't want me

Nothing I can do

'Cause you don't wanna try

I would've walked through hell

To find another way

I would've laid me down

If I knew that you would stay

I would've crossed the stars

To keep you in my life

But now I'm falling hard

Without you here tonight

Without you here tonight

Without you here tonight

Without you here tonight
