Answer:

The correct answer is B: ban slavery in land obtained from Mexico

Explanation:

The Wilmot Proviso was an unsuccessful 1846 proposal in the U.S. Congress.

In 1846 it passed the House as an amendment to the $2,000,000 appropriations bill to negotiate the end of the war, but failed in the Senate.

In 1847 it was reintroduced but also passed the House and failed in the Senate.

Finally, in 1848, an attempt was made to make it part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, but it also failed. Political controversies over slavery in the southwest persisted until Compromise of 1850.

Answer:

Option B. Wilmot Proviso was a United States Congress proposal to ban or prohibit slavery in land obtained from Mexico.

Explanation:

During 1846, an encounter between military guards and Texas ignited United States-Mexican war. United States Congress tried a peaceful solution by negotiating with Mexico with a proposal to offer a ransom of $30000 and additional $2 million to Mexican President, James K. Polk in return of acquiring Oregon territory and a major share of Texas from Mexico.

Fearing a threat of slavery, United States Congressman, David Wilmot put forth this proposal during 1846 so as to prohibit slavery in the region post United States-Mexican war. Although bill was passed by House, Senate later adjourned this amendment without Provison and subsequently approved the funds negotiated.

To what extend did the republic recover after 1923 under stressmann
MrRa [10]

Answer:

Stresemann was a politician of the Weimar republic after Ebert. When Stresemann came into power, Germany was still under the influence of the effects of the treaty of Versailles. Germany was in economic peril, owing 6600 million pounds to the victors of the First World War, militarily crippled as the armed forces were reduced to only 100,000 men and no battleships, no armored vehicles and no aircraft or submarines as well as no troops in the Rhineland. The war guilt clause, article 231, also left Germany hating the allies and the treaty of Versailles as they thought it was unfair. Stresemann entered Germany when it was in a state of peril, however, one could argue that his successes outweighed his limitations and he was very significant in the recovery of Germany after 1923 until his death in 1929.

How did British policy in India fulfill the economic argument for establishing colonies?
VashaNatasha [74]

British policies in India were economically profitable at the expense of the Indians.

Explanation:

The colonial policies were justified by the enormous economic potential of the colonies wherein the cost incurred of production was to be extracted from the colony by itself and then the profits of the enterprise was taken away by the colonizer to their native country.

Thus, the policies implemented in India made the colony deplete of resources and filled the pockets of the colonizer which was the primary goal of colonialism.
