Christine Mann is a noted black American Mathematician and aeronautical engineer who was involved in her early life in protests with the Civil Rights Movement; her career at NASA has focussed greatly in researching sonic booms and supersonic flight. Mann was the first African-American woman at the Langley Research Center to achieve the top rank of the Federal Civil Service.
