Some factors influence flexibility. It includes joint structure, age and gender, muscle bulk, connective tissue, and proprioceptors.

EXPLANATION:

· Joint Structure

The human body consists of many joint structures. Each of them has its strength. For example, joint structure the ball and the socket in the shoulder. It has the greatest range of motion (ROM) among others. Compare that joint structure with the joint structure in the elbow. The range of their motion is different. Joint structure in the shoulder enables the shoulder to move to every direction while the joint structure in the elbow enables the elbow to move only flex and extend.

· Age and Gender

As people get older, ROM and flexibility will decrease. This is due to the degradation of the fibrous connective tissue which is located in the muscle fibers through fibrosis. The bone structure also takes part which causes men and women flexibility different. Women are considered to be more flexible than men, despite their age.

· Muscle Bulk

Big muscle limits the ROM. Thus, it is difficult for a very bulky athlete to complete specific stretches because his muscle mass gets in the way. Heavy exercise to build the muscle also affects the flexibility as mass increase and muscle density.

· Connective Tissue

Tendon and fascia which are classified as deep connective tissue can limit the ROM. These tissues differ in their tendency to keep a greater and new length after stretching. They also differ in their ability to return to the original resting length. Over time, the connective tissue will lose water content and the ligament and tendons collagen become thicker and less flexible.

· Proprioceptors

Proprioceptors are tiny sensors which are found inside the muscle fibers. Proprioceptors provide information about muscle length, joint angle, and muscle tension. When someone does stretching, it can ensure that these sensors don’t trigger reflex actions. It will result in weaken flexibility.

frez [133]

Answer:

12.5 infant deaths per 1,000 livebirths

Explanation:

Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) refers to the number of newborns under 1 year of age dying in a specific geographic location divided by the total number of livebirths in that same location and calendar year multiplied by 1,000. This is considered an important indicator in concluding an area's quality of life.

The formula is: \frac{Number of Resident Infant Deaths}{Number of Resident Live Births} x 1,000

\frac{5,000}{400,000} x 1,000 = 12.5

Therefore, there are 12.5 infant deaths per 1,000 livebirths.
