The first part of this problem is to determine how much he will make with the newpapers alone which is 11. Now to get to the 20$ he needs 9 more dollars. for 9 dollars he needs 180 pounds of cans because if you take the 900 pounds it would take in pennies and divide it by 5 which is what you would get with nickels. then to get the amount of cans you multiply 180 by 16 which is the number of ounces in a pound which gives you 2,880 cans. i'm not completely sure but give it a try.

1. A test-tube has a diameter of 3cm. How many turns would a piece of thread of length
Alex Ar [27]

So if we think of a test tube, it looks sort of like a cylinder. This means that its cross-section would be a circle. To find out how many turns a piece of thread would make around the test tube, we need to find the circumference of the test tube, then divide the length of the string by the circumference.

Step 1) Find the circumference

C = pi x diameter

C = 3.14 x 3

C = 9.42

Step 2) Divide the length of the string by the circumference

90.42 / 9.42 = 9.5987

The string would make approximately 9.60 turns around the test tube.

Hope this helps!! :)
