Answer:

Option B

Step-by-step explanation:

Equation of a parabola is given as y = -4x² + 8x + 12

We have to find the x-intercepts, of the parabola.

for any point on x-axis y coordinates will be zero.

So put placing y = 0 in the equation.

0 = -4x² + 8x + 12

-4(x² - 2x - 3) = 0

x² - 2x - 3 = 0

x² - 3x + x - 3 = 0

x ( x-3) + 1( x - 3) = 0

( x+1 ) ( x - 3 ) = 0

( x + 1 ) = 0 ⇒ ( x = -1 )

( x - 3 ) = 0 ⇒ ( x = 3 )

points on x-axis will be ( -1, 0 ) & ( 3, 0 )

Option B is the answer.

Which of the following is the proper name for the figure below?
7
Y
X
VMariaS [17]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

When you look at the triangle look at the 3 vertices. Now look at you answers given and choose one that combines all 3 vertices. You don't want your answer to contain a letter/number that represents the length of a side.

So in this case you don't want M or Y in you answer.

Your answer has to be made up of A X andT.

The only answer that uses AXT is answer B.

How can you calculate the area of the circle if you know the circle's circumference?
Jobisdone [24]

Answer with step-by-step explanation:

We know that the formula for area of a circle is given by:

Area of a circle = \pi r ^ 2

So to find the area of circle, we basically need to know the radius of the circle.

If we know the circumference of the circle, we can calculate the area of the circle too.

Formula for the circumference of the circle is given by:

2\pi r

So if we know the circle's circumference, we can find the value of radius and then find the area of circle with it.
