  <span>Pues si vives en Colombia deberías saber que la desembocadura del Magdalena es uno de los puntos portuarios mas importantes de Colombia, ademas de Buenaventura, aquí se lleva a cabo entrada y salida de mercancía, algo bastante importante para la economía Colombiana. En cuanto a historia, fue uno de los principales medios de transporte en su época, Actualmente tiene una importancia turística, dado la diversidad de especies, incluyendo manatíes, rió arriba (interior de Colombia), aledaño al rió existen reservas naturales, que alojan una diversidad de especies muy grande, las cuales son de importancia internacional, en especial las aves que viven en los manglares y bascosidades cercanas al Magdalena. En fin es un recurso importante para el pais ademas de toda la historia que lleva, aunque actualmente se encuentra sumamente degradado. </span>
