Answer:

To make a universal name and avoid the confusion of many vernacular names of the organisms.

Explanation:

There are many organisms living in different parts of the world. They are known by their respective local names called vernacular names. These vernacular names can't be understood universally. Therefore, there should be a standard name for every organism. These names are their scientific names. Every organism has a scientific name which is based on binomial nomenclature. This type of naming consists of 2 part of a species one is the generic name and other is species name.  For example, Mangifera indica is the scientific name of Mango where Mangifera is a generic name and indica is a species name. This type of names avoid the confusion of vernacular names of the organisms. Hence binomial nomenclature are important.

Scientific names are informative. Every recognized species on earth (at least in theory) is given a two-part scientific name. This system is called "binomial nomenclature." These names are important because they allow people throughout the world to communicate unambiguously about animal species. (Got that from google)

What is an example of a cast fossil? What is an example of a mold fossil?
valentinak56 [21]
This type of fossil is called a mold. A cast fossil forms when a mold fossil is filled with some form of mineral, usually through the seepage of water depositing the minerals within the mold. In time, the mold is filled and the materials deposited harden, creating a replica of the original fossil.

Hope this helps you :p
