Answer:

 • I just get so tired of failing.

This is the line that best develops Becky's character. In this line, Becky states that she does not like failure. This is clear from the way she handles herself in the story. She seems really upset at the possibility of not passing her exam again. She also seems really nervous to admit that this is even a possibility. We can tell that she is not comfortable with the idea of failure.

 • Becky succeeded easily, whereas Justin had to work and work to just get a passing grade.

This sentence summarizes one of the conflicts of the story. Justin and Becky are clearly very different in the way they handle challenges. Justin is more laid-back and is not as afraid of the possibility of doing badly. On the other hand, Becky seems really scared of failing. This is most likely a consequence of the fact that Becky tends to succeed easily, while Justin has to work just to get a passing grade.

What is the BEST way to revise this sentence so that it conveys clear, concise ideas and does not change the meaning of the sent
evablogger [386]

Answer:

The answer is: D. I rang the doorbell, but no one came to the door. I was sure this was the right address. While I waited, I saw a curtain move.

Explanation:

It is generally much better to have short sentences than a long involved sentence. The long sentence in the example is pretty easy to understand, but selection "D" makes the meaning clearer and easier to understand. Separate sentences cuts down on trying to figure out multiple meanings.
