Answer:

C Most Europeans believed the war would end quickly, but it bogged down in trench warfare.

Explanation:

Trench warfare or war of position is a form of warfare, in which the fighting armies maintain static lines of fortifications dug in the ground, called trenches. Trench warfare arose from a revolution in firearms. There were periods of trench warfare in the Civil War (1861-1865) and the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905, but it reached its peak of brutality and mortality on the Western Front of the First World War. They reached a depth of between one and two meters, and connected with others for greater mobility of the battle blocks.

Why did Nikita Khrushchev want the western zones of Berlin under control of East Germany? He wanted to keep skilled East German
butalik [34]

Answer:

He wanted to keep skilled East German workers from moving to West Berlin.

Explanation:

To impede the constant crossing of large numbers of East Berliners and East Germans to West Berlin, controlled by the Western powers, was the main motive behind the construction of the Berlin Wall in 1961. It meant to stop the loss of skilled workers, too. This measure was decided by the German communist authorities and it must have had Soviet approval. Nikita Khrushchev was the Soviet top leader at the time.

Did the supreme court decisions under john marshall's leadership extend federal power too much? is it appropriate that someone w
mash [69]

The supreme court decision under John Marshall leadership have extended federal powers, but not too much in the sense of destroying the federalist idea that brought the United States together. Marshall was guided by a strong commitment to judicial power and by a belief in the supremacy of national over state legislatures. His judicial vision was very much in keeping with the Federalist political program in line with the constitution.

It can be argued that someone not elected should not have power to shape government and law through the Expansion of the Judiciary in 1801, but the Marshall Court, and this decision in particular, established the principle of "judicial review" whereby Congressional laws and executive actions may be judged by the Supreme Court to be within the bounds of the Constitution.

It is definitely not appropriate that a political party ideology is implemented through the judiciary, however, In keeping with John Marshall's Federalist views, they generally favored strong government action and especially supported the supremacy of the federal government over state authorities as long as it was constitutional.
