The archaeological site of Tikal, a Guatemalan national park, is the largest excavated Mayan site in the Americas. Tikal's most famous ancient Mayan landmark is its great pyramid with a two-headed snake. Tikal is also home to Cancuén, the Lost City, whose interior rooms once housed the royal family.
