Answer:

68.5g

Explanation:

For A 100ml vial of 25% solution

25% of the total mass of the solution is the mass of the medication contained in the solution.

lets Assume the 100ml vial contains 150g of solution, then,

Mass of the medication contained in the solution  = 0.25 x 100g = 25g

therefore :

For a 250ml solution, the medication will be;

(250 x 25)/100 = 62.5 g

when  an additional 6g of medication is added the mass of the medication becomes :

62.5 + 6 = 68.5g

For a 250ml solution, the original mass will be  (250 x 100)/100 = 250g

With addition of 6g medication is added to the original mass the total mass becomes = 250 + 6 = 256 g

hence the percentage of the amount of IV added to the  Solution after adding medication becomes 68.5/256 x 100% = 26.5

hence the total amount of the IV after adding the medication =  68.5g

Answer: 26.76%

Explanation:

A 100ml vial of 25% solution means that 25% of the total mass of the solution is the mass of the medication (solute).

Assuming a 100ml vial contains 100g of solution, then,

Mass of solute = 0.25 x 100g = 25g

For a 250ml solution, solute will be;

(250x25)/100 = 62.5g

Adding an additional 6g of medication makes it

62.5 + 6 = 68.5g

For a 250ml solution, the original mass is (250x100)/100 = 250g

With addition of 6g medication it becomes 256g

Solution after adding medication becomes 68.5/256 x 100%

= 26.76%
