Area of a triangle: 1/2×b×h

You have 4 triangles
2 with base of 8 and height of 2
2 with base of 8 and height of 8

Find area for each of these
A = 1/2 × 8 × 2 = 8
A = 1/2 × 8 × 8 = 32

Since you have 2 of each
8 × 2 = 16
32 × 2 = 64

Total area:
A = 16 + 64
   = 80 in²

L times height equals area. So it's (8+8)×(8+2)=160 square inches

Ill give BRAINLIEST if right! pls help!
Vladimir79 [104]

Answer:

36\:\text{units}

Step-by-step explanation:

Drop a height directly through the middle of the triangle, intersecting the base at a 90 degree angle. We form two right triangles and can use the Pythagorean theorem to solve for the hypotenuse.

The Pythagorean theorem states that for any right triangle, the following is true:

a^2+b^2=c^2, where a and b are two legs of the triangle and c is the hypotenuse.

Therefore, we have the following equation (using the graph to measure the length of the two legs):

5^2+12^2=x^2,\\x^2=169,\\x=13

The other "tilted" side must be the same length. The base of the triangle can be measured using the graph - 10 units.

Therefore, the perimeter is 10+13+13=\boxed{36\:\text{units}}

mr Goodwill [35]

Answer:

x=8

Step-by-step explanation:

You move all terms that don't contain x to the right side and solve.

3x-6=18

3x=24

x=8
