In response, the British government passed the Intolerable Acts to serve as a punishment. Intolerable Acts on the other hand has five other acts embedded to curtail the excess of the colonies. The Boston Port Act had the most immediate impact on the revolution against Britain, this is because, this act led to various protests, where even the loyalists of the British government combined with the patriots insisted that the act is too cruel, as it punished the whole city instead of the culprits alone.
