We know that
in the expression 3/(x+2)
for x=-2-------> the denominator is zero

And the denominator cannot be zero, therefore the value of x = -2 can not belong to the domain of the function. That is the reason why the value of x = -2 cannot be included

1) Because the expression is undefined for x = –2, the value –2 must be excluded from the solution set.

2) Because –2 is not represented on the graph.

Create a matrix. use a graphing calculator to solve the system using the rref function.

Answer:

x=-\dfrac{44}{7}

y=\dfrac{58}{7}

Step-by-step explanation:

Arrange the equations so that all the variables are in columns (x as the first column, y as the second, equals a number as the third):

-11x - 4y = 36

5x + 5y = -10

Define and edit Matrix A.  We need a 3 x 2 matrix.  Input the coefficients and constant:

\left[\begin{array}{ccc}-11&-4&36\\5&5&-10\end{array}\right]

Find rref function, enter matrix A:  rref([A])  (press enter)

This gives you:

\left[\begin{array}{ccc}1&0&-\frac{44}{7}\\0&1&\frac{58}{7}\end{array}\right]

which means:

x=-\dfrac{44}{7}

y=\dfrac{58}{7}

Write a function to represent each problem situation Carmen deposits $1000into simple interest account.The rate for the account
kolezko [41]

The function the represent the balance in the account as a function of time t is p(t) = 1000 + 40t

<h3><u>Solution:</u></h3>

Given that,

Carmen deposits $1000 into simple interest account

The rate for the account is 4%

To find: function the represent the balance in the account as a function of time t

Given is simple interest account

The formula for simple interest is given as:

S.I = \frac{ prt}{100}

Where, "p" is the principal and "r" is the rate of interest and "t" is the number of years

In simple interest,

total amount after "t" years = principal + simple interest

Here in this question, Carmen deposits $1000

p_0 = 1000

r = 4 \% = \frac{4}{100} = 0.04

Thus we can frame a function as:

total amount after "t" years = principal + simple interest

p(t) = p_0 + (p_0 \times r \times t )

p(t) = 1000 + (1000 \times 0.04)t\\\\p(t) = 1000 + 40t

Where, p(t) is the amount after "t" years and p_0 is the principal sum

Thus the function is obtained

if a translation has a coordinate notation of (x,y) --&gt; (x+1,y-3) then what is the image of (4,-4)
icang [17]

Answer:

(5, - 7 )

Step-by-step explanation:

A translation rule of

(x, y ) → (x + 1, y - 3 )

means add 1 to the original x- coordinate and subtract 3 from the original y- coordinate, that is

(4, - 4 ) → (4 + 1, - 4 - 3 ) → (5, - 7 )
