Two horses are ready to return to their barn after a long workout session at the track. The horses are at coordinates H(1,10) an

d Z(10,1). Their barns are located in the same building, which is at coordinates B(-3,-9). Each unit/grid on the coordinate plane represents 100 meters. Which horse is closer to the barn? Justify your answer.

H(1,10) Z(10,1) B(-3,-9)
1st Calculate the distance H(horse) H to B(barn)
2nd Calculate the distance Z(horse) H to B(barn)
3rd Compare

1st distance H(horse) H to B(barn)
HB = √[(x₂-x₂)²+(y₂-y₁)₂] → √[-3-1)² + (-9-10)²]=√377 = 19.42

2nd distance ZB = √[(-3-10)²+(-9-1)²] = √269 = 16.4

HB in meter =19.42 x 100 = 1,942 m
ZB in meter = 16.4 x 100 = 1,640 m

Obviously HB > ZB and Z is closer to the Barn

Which number is between 1/2 and 8/9 ?
1/3
19/24
7/24
22/24
Helen [10]

Answer:

5/9, 11/18, 2/3, 13/18, 7/9, 15/18

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the number between these 2, see what is between it:

to see the number between 1/2 and 8/9, we have to:

Times 1/2 by 9 times = 1/2 * 9 = 9/18

Times 8/9 by 2 times = 8/9* 2 = 16/18

So the number between 9/18 and 16/18 would be"

10/18, 11/18, 12/18, 13/18, 14/18, 15/18

Simply some of that, we got:

5/9, 11/18, 2/3, 13/18, 7/9, 15/18

Hope this help you :3

As the number of pages in a photo book increases, the price of the book also increases. There is an additional shipping charge o
UNO [17]

You can just substitute $62.10 to the model of the price

P = (20 + 0.5x) + 0.15 (20 + 0.5x)

68.10 = (20 +0.5x) + 0.15(20+0.5x)

x = 68 pages

therefore the maximum number of pages she can have in her book is 68 pages
