Nativism was a belief among Americans that focused around being anti-immigration. Nativists felt that immigrants were ruining American society for multiple reasons including:

1) Taking jobs away from American citizens- Many immigrants were willing to work for less money in comparison to an American citizen. This was especially true for jobs in factories.

2) Refusal to assimilate- Many immigrants continued their traditions and religious beliefs when arriving in America. This preservation of culture worried many Americans.

How was the high worth of cash crops MOST connected with Southern farm owners' decision to use slaves?
alexdok [17]

The value of cash crops influenced Southern farmers decision to use slaves because of the cost of slaves. During the 18th and first half of the 19th century, slaves were considered property. This meant that they could be bought and sold. With this mind, it was cheaper to buy and own slaves in comparison to using another type of labor system like indentured servitude. This is because indentured servants were only worked for the farm owner for 4-7 years. Whereas in slaves could be kept indefinitely.

How do state and local elections compare to national elections
artcher [175]

Answer:

Explanation:

''Most of the state and local level public officials in the U.S. are elected directly or indirectly.  An election is the process by which people choose their representatives for governance.  In the U.S., each state controls and regulates state and local elections.  State law and state constitutions regulate elections at the state and local level.  The state legislature controls state laws and state constitutions.  Every state is free to conduct its elections and limit its electorate.  State legislatures and the executive are elected separately.  In all states, the governor and lieutenant governor are elected.  Additionally, all members of the state legislatures are elected.  The legislative branches in local level, county, and city government are filled by election.  Sheriffs and Mayors at the local level are also elected''
