Louis XV (1715-1774) was the King of France. He belonged to the House of Bourbon. He ruled France territory since 1715. When King Louis XIV died, Louis XV was a child an had to wait to be 13 years-old to assume the throne. Meanwhile, France was ruled by Philippe II, Duke of Orleans. During his tenure as King of France he spent a lot of money in wars, he lived in luxury while its people were suffereing from poverty, and this created the scenario for the French Revolution to come.
