All living organisms are made up of cells. There are two basic types of cells, these are prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.

Generally, prokaryotic cells do not have nucleus and membrane bound cell organelles. The four basic cell components that can be found in prokaryotic cells are: plasma membrane, cytoplasm, genetic material (DNA) and ribosomes.

Eukaryotic cells on the other hand have all the organelles that are found in prokaryotic cells plus all the ones that prokaryotic cells do not have. Thus, eukaryotic cells are more completed and advanced and are usually found in multi cellular organisms.

One of the major differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells is the NUCLEUS. Nucleus is present in eukaryotic cells but it is absent in prokaryotic cells.
