Move the -18 across so that x^2+11x+18<0
then solve as if equal to 0
(x+9)(x+2)<0
x=-9 and x=-2 put these on a graph and it is less than 0 when within the graph hence x>-9 and x<-2

The air pressure inside Jason’s bike tires decreases by about 6% each week. The original pressure was 45 pounds per square inch
Brrunno [24]
Compound percentage reduction can be calculated by multiplying the initial number by (1-x)^t where x is the percentage reduction (/100, i.e. 1% reduction is 0.01), and t is the number of times it has reduced.

So:
a) p=45(1-0.06)^t=45*0.94^t
Where t is the number of weeks.

We can then just substitute in to work out the final pressure:
b) p = 45*0.94^6 = 31psi

Francis is at the state fair. A fair concession stand is selling funnel cakes for $3.50 and deep-fried Oreos for $2.00. Write an
VladimirAG [237]

The equation that models the number of funnel cakes and Oreos he can buy is 3.50x + 2.0y = 42

Data given;

 • Cost of cakes = $3.50
 • Cost of Oreos = $2.00
 • The total amount spent = $42.00

What is the Equation

To solve this problem, we just need to write out an equation to show how he can spend $42.00 in the fair on Oreos and Cakes.

Let x represent the cakes

Let y represent the Oreos

The equation is thus;

3.50x + 2.0y = 42.00

The equation that shows the number of Cakes and Oreos can by is

3.50x + 2.0y = 42

10•4=40. 40 is the perimeter of the square. To find the perimeter of the semicircle use the circle perimeter (circumference) formula and divide that answer by two. This would be pi•10. You get 31.4. Then divide by 2 so it’s 15.7. Finally add 15.7 and 40. Hope this helps... sorry it’s such a long answer
