Answering the question, Queen Elizabeth relies on ethos by establishing that she has the quality of a strong leader.

Ethos is an important part of an argument and persuasion in which the speaker set out their knowledge and good moral character.

Further Explanation

Ethos can be used in both writing and speaking and it is used by writers to established authority on a particular issue or subject and to build confidence with their readers.

Ethos means moral character in Greek word and the concept behind ethos was conceived by Aristotle as a means of persuasion. Aristotle used ethos in his work Rhetoric, where he establishes the three modes of argument to be ethos, logos, and pathos.

However, the three elements of Ethos include

 • Phronesis: this represents the wisdom that a writer has. It is the ability of a writer to engage with the readers and build trust.
 • Arete: this is the moral virtue of a writer’s argument. The reason why writers use ethos in their work is to convey the morality of their argument to the readers.
 • Eunoia: this is establishing goodwill with your audience. It involves building good communication with the audience.

Therefore, Queen Elizabeth relies on ethos by establishing that she has the quality of a strong leader.
