<u><em>Each culture understands the meaning of color based on their points of view, what that color represents for them.</em></u> A good example is white color. For Japanse culture, the white color is associated with the concept of MA (間) or "empty space". For them, a blank space is fulfilled with elements. On the other hand, white in Western cultures represents just an empty space. This idea can be applied to other colors such as black (which represents the mourning in major Western cultures), or green, or blue... and so on.
