vertical asymptotes are the values that "x" cannot be. You can find these by:

(1) simplifying the numerator and denominator and then and setting the denominator equal to zero ... in your problem, there is no denominator.

(2) setting the inside of the square root less than 0 ... in your problem, there is no square root.

Since neither of these apply to your problem, there are no vertical asymptotes.

Answer: none

FYI: If you wrote the problem wrong and it is supposed to be f(x) = \frac{x-4x}{x - 4}, then the factored form is f(x) = \frac{x(x - 4)}{x - 4} and the simplified form is f(x) = x.

The answer would still be "none" because neither (1) or (2) above apply.

What is the slope of the line?
Dimas [21]

Answer:

-1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

If you go to any point on the line, you count down 1 point, and over to the right by 2 points to get back to the line. That is what makes the slope -1/2.

Solve for x:<br><br> 3x – 14 = -5x + 2
dalvyx [7]

Hello there!

3x-14=-5x+2

Add 5x to both sides:

3x-14+5x=-5x+2+5x\\8x-14=2

Add 14 to both sides:

8x-14+14=2+14\\8x=16

Now divide both sides by 8:

\frac{8x}{8}=\frac{16}{8}

In our last step, we will simplify 16/8:

\frac{16}{8}=2\\ x=2

Hope this helps!

Lisa and Ann are eating a box of crackers. Lisa eats 3/6 of the box,and Ann eats 1/4 of the box.How much of the box did the two
Rufina [12.5K]
<h2>Lisa and Ann ate 3/4 of the box together</h2>

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Given that,

Lisa and Ann are eating a box of crackers

Lisa\ ate = \frac{3}{6}\\\\Ann\ ate = \frac{1}{4}

<h3><u>How much of the box did the two girls eat together?</u></h3>

Together\ eaten = Lisa\ ate + Ann\ ate\\\\Together\ eaten = \frac{3}{6} + \frac{1}{4}\\\\Together\ eaten = \frac{1}{2} + \frac{1}{4}\\\\Together\ eaten = \frac{1 \times 2}{2 \times 2} + \frac{1}{4}\\\\Together\ eaten = \frac{2}{4} + \frac{1}{4}\\\\Together\ eaten = \frac{3}{4}

Thus Lisa and Ann ate 3/4 of the box together
