Getting rid of bodily wastes is another huge problem. Eventually this will effect the health of the a community that lives in this kind of poverty.
Disease is another major problem. All sorts of diseases (tuberculosis, chronic fevers, diarrhea, and other child related diseases) can occur -- most of them fatal.
Even simple precautions like washing one's hands is a major defense that may not be available to those living in poverty.
