Once upon a time, there was a cell. It was moving around the primordial soup trying to make it in that harsh world. All of a sudden, it encountered a small prokaryotic cell. To be honest, the cell was feeling a little lonely and it was happy to come across somebody to share the habitat with. The two cells started spending a lot of time together, just quietly coexisting. The first cell started thinking how it would be so much easier to survive if the other, small cell were to live with me. I could provide safety and shelter, and the small cell can pay me back by providing me with the energy I need for my daily metabolic processes. The cell was hesitant for a second, but then bravely said ''Hey, what do you think about symbiosis?''. And the rest is (endosymbiotic)  history.

Which answer places the following events in proper order for pulmonary ventilation?
MArishka [77]

Answer:

The sequence is b, a, d, c.

Explanation:

Pulmonary ventilation may be defined as be defined as the simple process of intake of oxygen and exhale of carbon dioxide known as breathing. Diaphragm contracts during inspiration and relax during exhalation.

The pulomonary ventilation occurs when the skeletal muscle contraction occur by the stimulation from the brainstem nuclei. This leads to the changes in the volume of the thoracic cavity. The thorax changes its shape by contraction and relaxation, this leads to the pressure change. Then air flows down the pressure gradient.

Thus, the correct sequence is  b, a, d, c.

Describe how an organism has 2 sets of dna and the importance of homologous chromosomes
LenKa [72]
Most organisms are Diploid, and as a result, they will have received 2 copies of the chromosomes, or sets of chromosomes, from both their parents. This they will have 2 sets of Genes that will perform almost exact same process, except with different phenotypes.

These chromosomes need to be homologous, in order for new alleles and other genetic combinations to be made.
