Answer:

Dying Light:

The darkening day, the clouds without rain,

Passing by the house, on a windy day,

What thoughts possessed the whitening day,

How glorious the sunlight, passing time each day,

A drop of a ray through space, lighting up each cloud,

The dying light which shines in our eyes,

A small rememberance of what passed,

The shot of light that passes through time,

What events it has seen is imagination in our minds,

As it passes from eye to eye,

Each person wishing a good life,

The shaft of light that brightens the day,

One for rememberance, only to forget what occurred that fateful day.

O, what to describe, that blinding light?

As fine gold it passes through the night,

The colors so bright, which brightens our eyes,

And brings the warm feeling, of colour into our lives,

The sunlight that brings life into our eyes.

But woe to us that day, in the dying light,

For the shaft is but a dying folk,

traveling through the night,

Reaching us from a far,

That dying light,

& lest we forget,

that death brings us life,

The light that lightneth our eyes,

That sunlight, that ray,

O the dying light.

~

Descriptive of a ray of light.

John Proctor tells his wife Elizabeth that her “justice would freeze beer.” What does he mean by this example of hyperbole? Who
Dafna11 [192]

This question is incomplete. Here's the complete question.

Read The Crucible, by Arthur Miller

John Proctor tells his wife Elizabeth that her “justice would freeze beer.” What does he mean by this example of hyperbole? Who is acting most reasonable in this scene—John or Elizabeth? Explain.

Answer:

Proctor claims he feels judged by Elizabeth, and the hyperbole used refers to how cold she is, so cold that she could freeze beer, which freezes at a colder temperature than water. He means that she has no warm feelings for him, as in no compassion.

Explanation:

However, I think that Elizabeth is the most reasonable in this scene, given that Proctor has lied to her about being alone with Abigail.
