At a time denoted as t = 0 a technological innovation is introduced into a community that has a fixed population of n people. De

termine a differential equation for the number of people x(t) who have adopted the innovation at time t if it is assumed that the rate at which the innovations spread through the community is jointly proportional to the number of people who have adopted it and the number of people who have not adopted it. (Use k > 0 for the constant of proportionality and x for x(t). Assume that initially one person adopts the innovation.)

N = number of people = constant

number of people who have adopted the new technology: x(t) = x

number of people who have not adopted the new technology: n - x

proportionality constant: k

dx / dt = kx(1-x)

x(0) = 0 (this is at t = 0, 0 people have adopted the new technology)

Simplify 6+4+(w+2)+4
alina1380 [7]

Answer:

16+w

Step-by-step explanation:

The problem to solve is:

6+4+(w+2)+4

6+4 evaluates to 10

w+2 evaluates to w+2

10 + 2 = 12

The answer is 12+w

6+4+(w+2) evaluates to 12+w

12 + 4 = 16

The answer is 16+w

6+4+(w+2)+4 evaluates to 16+w

The final answer is

16+w

At the last Chance Filling Station, gas costs $1.60 a gallon. Trevor paid $32.00 to fill his tank. How many gallons of gas did h
lapo4ka [179]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

y = total cost of gas

x = gallons of gas

(a)

y = 1.60x

(b)

y = 1.60x

32.00 = 1.60x

32.00 / 1.60 =  1.60x / 1.60

32.00 / 1.60 =  x

20 = x

x = 20

Trevor bought 20 gallons of gas.
