The Alps are considered a climatic divide in Western Europe.

True or false?
Basile [38]
This is a true statement.

The Alps are tall mountains, so they block the movement of air between the areas south and North to them. The areas south of the Alps are a lot warmer than the areas north of the Alps, and there is relatively littlie exchange of air between them.

So when one drives through the Alps (it's not too slow, as there are many tunnels!), one can change the climate very quickly - the reason why many people choose to go for holidays across the alps!

How did the Romans show their belief in the humanlike qualities of gods and goddesses?
____ [38]

Answer:

They built statues of gods in human shapes.

Explanation:

The Romans had their own religion, though it had numerous elements from other religions in the region. Like every civilization in Europe, the Romans were practicing pagan religion, a polytheistic one, where the people adored a lot of gods, all of which had their own powers and influence. Something that differed among the polytheistic religions in Europe was the depiction of the gods.

In some religions, gods were depicted as animals, plants, geographic features, mythical creatures, natural occurances, but in some, they were depicted as human-like. The Romans were part of the last one, where they depicted their gods in human shape, which can easily be seen in the statues built for them. All of their gods had superpowers and controlled a particular domain, but they were not perfect by any means, having human characteristics and flaws, as well as bodies and faces.
