A common symptom that would alert the nurse that a preterm infant is developing respiratory distress syndrome is:_________
Ede4ka [16]

A common symptom that would alert the nurse that a preterm infant is developing respiratory distress syndrome is expiratory grunting.

An audible grunt (forced expiratory sound) in a newborn is a crucial indicator of pulmonary disease and reveals a small lung volume or functional residual capacity (FRC). The baby's FRC rises when breathing against a partially closed glottis, maintaining the alveoli's patent state.

In an effort to maintain FRC and avoid alveolar atelectasis, the glottis suddenly closes on expiration, causing a grunting sound. Achieving and maintaining physiologic FRC is crucial in the management of respiratory illnesses with poor compliance, such as RDS or TTN, because lung compliance is worse at very low or very high FRC.

Why is it important to have haploid cells at the end of meiosis?
Marat540 [252]

Answer: cause haploids make gamets... And each female and male gamets share their DNA together...

And IF we didn't have haploids that would make double DNA every time...

Like ur parents each have 46 Chromosomes and iffff they wouldn't have the haploid gamets at the end of meiosis you would have 46+46 chromosomes.... Terrible yeah?

So this haploid stuff has been organized so each the parents share half DNA ... 23 father+ 23 mother... So the next generation will have 46 chromosomes...

Plants where light-independent reactions take place in bundle sheath cells (different cells than where light-dependent reactions
muminat

Answer:

C4 type of photosynthesis

Explanation:

The process of photosynthesis takes place in two phases: the light-dependent phase and light-independent phase ( Calvin cycle).

The RUBISCO enzyme which catalyses the reaction of Calvin cycle has the binding affinity for both carbon dioxide and oxygen. When the enzyme binds to the oxygen results in the loss of ATP through a process called photorespiration.

To reduce the effect of photorespiration, some plants have made morphological adaptations in the chloroplast by separating the site of light-dependent phase and light-independent phase.

The light-dependent phase takes place in the mesophyll cells while the Calvin cycle takes place in the bundle sheath cell surrounding the leaf veins. These plants are known as C4 plants.

Thus, the C4 type of photosynthesis is the correct answer.
