6(x-4)=7(x+3)
Show your work
sergeinik [125]

Answer:

do distributive property on both, so multiply 6•x and 6•-4. then multiply 7•x and 7•3.

so it'll basically be 6x - 24 = 7x + 21.

then add 24 to both sides so: 6x - 24 + 24 = 7x + 21 + 24. since -24+24=0 it'll be 6x = 7x + 21 + 24.

then add 21 + 24 and that will be 45.

so 6x = 7x + 45

then subtract 7x from both sides 6x - 7x = 7x + 45 - 7x

that'll be -x = 7x + 45 - 7x

combine like terms (7x - 7x) = 0

so -x = 45

and since x can't be negative, do the opposite signs

so instead of -x = 45, make it x = -45

Hope it helped! (sorry that's its very long just wanted to show u the steps just in case)

Roberto, Christopher, and Levi are amateur cyclist riding in the 165.1 km long Tour of Cortez bicycle race. Each cyclist is indi
Naddik [55]

Answer:

 • Levi
 • Christopher
 • Roberto

Step-by-step explanation:

I like to work problems involving repetitive calculations using a spreadsheet. The sort function can easily put the results in the appropriate order.

__

Here, we need to compute minutes and kilometers remaining for each cyclist, and then divide the former by the latter to find the required timing.

Minutes remaining will be the difference between the qualifying time and the time used so far.

Km remaining will be the difference between the race length and the distance traveled so far.

Required minutes per km will be the ratio of minutes remaining to km remaining.

Levi has the least allowed minutes per km for his remaining distance. Roberto has the most.

_____

Christopher only has to increase his average speed by about 5% in order to qualify; Levi has the greatest challenge, as he needs about 18% more speed for the rest of the race.

If a= 2^x and b =2^x+1; show that: 8a^3 / b^3 = 2^x+1
kkurt [141]

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

a = 2ˣ

b = 2ˣ⁺¹ = 2ˣ * 2¹ = 2.2ˣ

Now,

{(8a³)/b²}

Substitute the value of x and y in expression then

= [{8(2ˣ)³}/(2.2ˣ)²]

= [(8*2³ˣ)/{2² * (2ˣ)²}]

= {(8*2³ˣ)/(4 * 2²ˣ)}

[since, (aᵐ)ⁿ = aᵐⁿ]

= {(2 * 2³ˣ)/2²ˣ}

= {(2 * 2²ˣ * 2ˣ)/2²ˣ}

[since (2a = a+a, that means 3x = 2x + x)]

= 2 * 2ˣ

= 2ˣ⁺¹

[since (aᵐ * aⁿ = aᵐ+ⁿ)]

Answer: Therefore, {(8a³)/b²} = 2ˣ⁺¹ .

Please let me know if you have any other.
