The organism that are found at the top of the energy pyramid are top carnivores or tertiary carnivores. They eat the secondary consumers for their food. Mostly at the top of the pyramid the last animals are the huge carnivores that eat small animals.

The interaction between the animals at the different levels helps to maintain the balance in the ecosystem.

Example : lions, tiger, et cetera.
