Analyze the degree to which and the ways in which the U.S. Constitution can be subject to varying interpretations

History

As with everything, interpretations depend upon the reader. An example can be the Quakers who were religious and fought for abolition of slavery claiming that the constitution stated itself that all people on Earth are equal since they were created by God, the creator. The founding fathers, however, believed that slaves cannot be people and that they are 3/5 of a regular human being, so equality does not apply to them.

zavuch27 [327]
The answer that I came with was, had an interest in the success of Rome, since they could improve their status by demonstrating their loyalty to their conquerors. I just learned about this over the summer semester when I took western civilization. Roman is rich in history but then again I think all countries are. :)

What are some pros and cons of being a merchant in the middle ages?
qaws [65]
The pros were that you were being protected by the guild in case of something bad happening you like getting hurt or similar. They would help you and your family for example. The cons were that you wouldn't be able to dictate the price of your wares which was done to prevent exploitation of consumers, so even if you were in a position to establish a personal monopoly, you couldn't and you couldn't become richer than what is the adequate wealth for a merchant.

ELEN [110]
There was different effects for it. I'm not sure if your question is free response or multiple choice but some effects were: widening the gap between the rich and poor, making inner cities have even worse conditions, the beatniks rose to counter the middle class lifestyle, schools in suburbs were better than the ones in inner cities

The following is a list of causes of the American Revolution
1) Conflict between Great Britain and American colonists- The passage of several different taxes like the Tea Act and Stamp Act caused constant problems between the colonists and the government. This was due to the fact that the taxes were passed without the consent of the colonists.
2) Boston Masaacre- 5 unarmed colonists were killed British soldiers after a confrontation in the Boston streets.
3) Enlightenment ideas- the concepts of the social contract and unalienable Rights helped spark the American Revolution.
