Subject: An update about our society.
My dear sister,
I hope you are doing well. Everyone's doing fine and all miss you, especially mom. But we know how that is.
It has been a while that I wrote to you, especially about the changes in our society. And so, I thought it'll be a good chance to keep you updated about the new happenings in and around us.
Recently, there were some renovations around our apartment complex, and numerous parks were also created. Aside from that, there were numerous societal changes introduced by the state government, like giving free excess to parks, the gyms, the swimming pools, etc. Moreover, the electricity charges were waived for those households using less than 250 units, while those exceeding that limit are charged a lesser amount. It has come as a huge relief to everyone. The society also organizes seminars that are about awareness of some of the social practices that have become more of a discriminatory practice.
But evidently, there are some 'old-fashioned' parents who don’t believe or support the 'awareness' drive of society. But with the change in the world and its perspectives, it is also good that society is working hard to develop and be more approachable, more open, and available for the new generations.
That is all I can think of. But I will keep you updated if anything new comes up too. Take good care and do keep us posted too.
We miss you.
Your sister,

The correct answers are the following:
- showing the relative strength of different nations’ currencies.
- examining spending patterns across nations and continents.
The exchange rate provides the amount of one currency that has to be provided (price) in order to obtain one unit of a different currency.
Exchange rates are mostly fixed by the forces of supply and demand, hence, depending on consumer needs and preferences and of their relative abudance or scarcity. Threfore, the final exchange rate (price) reached in the market shows the strength of a currency against a foreign one.
Moreover, demand and supply of currencies arise due to international commercial activities that require traders to exchange their money into a different currencies if they want to purchase/sell abroad. Therefore, exchange rates (prices) reached are also dependent on spending patterns in the different countries, more specifically on the streams of exports and imports.
